Childhood
Britney was born in Mississippi and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana.Her parents are called Lynne and James, Britney is sister of two, Bryan and Jamie Lynn.
Spears was an accomplished gymnast, attending gymnastics classes until age of nine and competing in state-level competitions.
When Britney was eight she was introduced to a New York Agent.Spears subsequently spent three summers at NYC' Professional Performing Arts School and appeared in lots of Brodway productions.

1998 - 1999 : From Kentwood to The World
Britney released her first single, "...Baby One More Time" at end of 1998 and became an instast  music phenomenoum, It was the first time a new artist debut a single on top of U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles, The single sold nine million copies worldwide.The song ranked 25th on Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Pop Songs of All-Time.

The album of the same title was released January 1999 reaching number one at U.S. Billboard 200 Albums, was certified diamond on the U.S.A. and on the Canada, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and was heavily well-accepted by critics.

In April 1999, Britney posed for her first major magazine publication, Rolling Stone (Picture Left).Shot by David LaChapelle, the photoshoot garnered widespread criticism for the mixing of wholesome innocence and sex, The cover featured her in a skimpy outfit lying on a bed, generating much speculation that she had breast implants at the age of 17

In December 1999 Britney won four Billboard Awards, including Female Artist Of The Year and month later receive Best New Artist from American Music Awards.

"...Baby One More Time" album had other 4 singles than the same title, "(You Drive Me) Crazy" , "Sometimes" , "Born To Make You Happy" and "From The Bottom Of My Broken Hear".

2000 : Oops!...She Did It Again
For those who thought Britney Spears huge success would be just ...Baby One More Time, her second album titled "Oops!...I Did It Again" was a big worldwide phenomenoum sold over 25 million copies worlwide.The album reached number one in U.S. by selling over one million copies on the first week, Being the highest record for a week debut of a solo artist in the U.S.A.The album was certified diamond in U.S.A., Canada and Turkey and received lots and lots of multi-platinum certifications all over the world.

The critics for Britney's second album were better than to the previous one.

The album leading single, "Oops!...I Did It Again" broke the record for most radio station additions in a single day, and quickly became a
number one hit worldwide.The same year Britney started her very first world tour, also titled Oops!...I Did It Again, Britney performed in all over U.S.A., Canada, Europe and Latin America.Britney ended 2000 with two more Billboard Awards and two nominations at Grammy.

The album had other 3 singles than "Oops!...I Did It Again" : "Stronger" , "Lucky" and "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know"

In December 2000, Forbes placed Britney Spears at number one on the annual list of Most Powerful Celebrities in The World.
2001 - 2002 - "Britney" Album Era
Britney became Pepsi spokesperson in 2001 earning US$8 million of endorsement deal that year.Britney appeared in several TV Commercials, Point-of-Purchase promotions and Internet ties between Spears and the company.Britney's deal with Pepsi dured until early 2004.
In September 2001, Spears made her third consecutive MTV Video Music Awards performance.While performing "I'm a Slave 4 U", she controversially utilized caged animals and danced erotically with a large albino python draped over her shoulders.

Britney's third album, "Britney" was released November 2001 debut at one in Billboard putting Britney on the list of few solo artists to debut first three albums number one in the U.S.A.

The third album major hit, "I'm Slave 4u" is the first song produced by Pharrell Williams to reach number one on World Singles.

To promote the album, Britney released 2 DVDs, one with the same title of album and the other titled "Britney Live from Las Vegas" with the performance of her second big tour "Dream Within A Dream Tour" in Las Vegas, Nevada, Britney released a video/gameboy/pc game called "Britney's Dance Beat" and a Book + DVD, "Stages".

The album had other singles released in 2001/2002 : "Overprotected", "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman", "I Love Rock 'n' Roll", "Boys" and "Anticipating", this last one released only in Brazil and France.

In early 2002, Spears's four-year relationship with Justin Timberlake ended.

In early 2002 Britney starred her first major movie role in "Crossroads" receiving cruel media critics.

June 2002 saw the opening of Spears' restaurant Nyla in New York City.Nyla closed by the end of 2003.

After the ending of "The Dream Within A Dream Tour", Britney announced she would have a six-month break on her career.
2003 : In The Zone
Ending of August 2003, Britney performed at The 2003 MTV Video Music Awards with Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Missy Eliot singing a medley of Madonna's old hit Like A Virgin and Madonna's hit of that year Hollywood.Spears locked lips with Madonna in a highly-publicized kiss.

After kissing Madonna several magazines all over the world started rumors like Britney was lesbian and she was having a secret relationship with Madonna.

In November 2003, Britney released her fourth album, "In The Zone".The album had 3 official singles, the first single was "Me Against The Music" featuring Madonna and the second was the mega hit "Toxic" after this last one comes "Everytime".

"In The Zone" biggest hit, "Toxic" is also considered one of Britney's biggest hits to date, The musicvideo budget was over US$ 1 million.One week after video debut on American MTV it was censored, but one week after being censored was taken out of censore.
2004 - 2006 : Marriage, Children & Divorce
Spears married childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander on January 3 2004, at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.55 hours after the marriage was cancelled.

In March 2004 Britney embarked on her third world tour, "The Onyx Hotel Tour" which was cancelled in June after Britney injured her knee during the filming of the music video for which would be "In The Zone" fourth single, "Outrageous".

In July 2004, Spears announced her engagement to Kevin Federline, three months after they started dating.These initial stages were chronicled in Spears's first reality show "Britney & Kevin : Chaotic", which aired on American TV Station UPN in May to June 2005.

On September 18 2004, Spears officially maried Kevin Federline in a ceremony in Studio City, California, filing legal papers on October 6.After the marriage Britney announced via her official website she would be taking another career break to start a family.

Spears reportedly became involved in the Kabbalah Centre in September 2004 through her friendship with Madonna.

In November 2004, Britney released a compilation of her biggest singles, titled "Greatest Hits : My Prerogative", even being on a career break, The album had two new singles, "My Prerogative" and "Do Somethin'".

In February 2005, Britney announced she was pregnancy.She gave birth to her first child, a boy, Sean Preston Federline, on September 14 2005 in Santa Monica, California.

When she was 7 months pregnant Britney released a single, "Someday (I'll Understand)", the song was written by her to her first baby.

In November 2005, Britney released a remixes album, "B In The Mix : The Remixes".

In May 2006, Britney announced she was pregnant for the second time in an appearance at The Late Show With David Letterman.She appeared on Dateline one month after to discuss about the tabloids constant critics of her motherhood.She addressed an incident which occurred in February when photos revealed her driving with her son unrestrained in her lap.

In August 2006, one month before her second child birth, Spears posed nude to Harper's Bazaar with her almost one-year old son Sean Preston.

On September 12 2006, Britney gave birth to her second child, also a boy, called Jayden James Federline in Los Angeles, California.

On November 7 2006, Britney filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, The following day, Kevin filed a response to Spears' divorce petition seeking physical and legal custody of their children.

Also in November, Britney started a "HOT" friendship with celebrity socialite Paris Hilton, the both were seen wild partying and photographed lots of times pantless.
2007 - 2008 : Personal Difficulties & Music Comeback
In February 2007 Britney shocked the world shaving her own head.Few days later Britney admitted herself to Promises rehab center in Malibu, California to treat her drug/alcohol addiction.One day before going to rehab, Kevin had requested an emergency hearing regarding the custody of his children with Spears but his attorney announced that his client asked to cancel the court appearance.Spears left the rehabilitation center on March 20 according to her manager, who said she was released after "successfully completing their program".Throughout early 2007, Spears embarked on a series of behaviors that received much attention from the media, including attacking the paparazzi with an umbrella.As the legal battle over the custody of their children continued, many members of her entourage have been subpoenaed to testify about her parenting skills.

In May 2007, Spears produced a mini tour for The House Of Blues under the name "The M+M's Tour" after 6 shows Britney cancelled the tour.

In August, Britney performed her next single "Gimme More" at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, the performance received lot of media attention it was described as a disappointing attempt at a "comeback".Despite the VMA backlash, the single has achieved success worldwide.

In September 2007, the official findings in Spears's custody battle were announced by the court. She was ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testings and to attend parenting counseling. Spears and Federline continued to share joint custody of their two children on a conditional basis.Spears lost physical custody of her children to Federline on October 1.

In October 2007, her seventh album and fifth studio album, titled "Blackout" was released, 55 hours after announcing the album was #1 on U.S., Billboard invented some rules and dropped the album to number #2.The album was well received by critics.

In December 2007, Britney released her second single for her most recent album, "Piece Of Me", the letter describes Britney's actual life being center of world media, most followed celebrity by paparazzi and all this stuff. 

On the evening of January 3, 2008, police were called to Spears's home after she refused to relinquish custody of her children to Federline's people.She was hospitalized at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, Spears was accused to be under influence of drugs or alcohol but blood tests showed negative to any of these substances.Spears was released from hospital two days later.On January 14 Commissioner Scott Gordon issued an order stating that Spears's visitation rights have been suspended indefinitely until the custody case goes to trial in April.

In January 2008, OK!Magazine published private photos from Spears' and her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.The headline cover says "Last Day With Mommy".The photo featured on the cover shows Britney holding her two sons, Sean Preston left and Jayden James at right.
