Britney Spears and Mel Gibson are headed to Costa Rica where they will vacation with the singer’s father and Gibson’s wife, a source tells PEOPLE.

“They’re just going away for a few days to relax,” says a source.

The group plan to stay at Gibson’s Costa Rican home. They will be back early next week.

The unlikely pair were first spotted together back in mid-March when they dined at Russian restaurant Romanov in Studio City. However, it wasn’t their first meeting. Gibson and Spears and their families met a number of times after the pop star was hospitalized in February, a different source told PEOPLE at the time.

“Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible,” the source said.

Gibson and Spears used to be neighbors when the singer previously lived in Malibu. “There are no expectations, there is no agenda,” the source added. “It’s simply an act of human kindness – one neighbor reaching out to the other.”

Last night’s How I Met Your Mother had around 9 million viewers in the U.S.A., However, It was 2 million lower than the popstar first appearance on the show, which was the show highest rating ever, But Britney’s second appearance brought 1 million more of viewers than the average of the weeks after her first appearance.Britney still got it!How I Met Your Mother owes her some audience….

Los Angeles Times: My, what a difference a little Britney makes.

A couple of months ago, word on the street — well, on the sound stages — was that CBS viewers would probably never get to finish the “How I Met Your Mother” story unless, of course, Fox picked the series up, which was part of the rumor. The youngest-skewing show on CBS has never broken out, the thinking goes, because it’s on the wrong network.

Enter: Britney Spears. Tonight she appears in the single-camera comedy for the second time. Her first visit gave the show its highest ratings ever and more buzz than Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) could ever muster, no matter how legendary he is. (And believe us, he is.)

Well, CBS has come to its senses and renewed the series for next fall. It also picked up “The Unit,” which stars Dennis Haysbert and is run by Shawn Ryan (”The Shield”).

No one really gets tired of watching a amazing, talented, beautiful Britney Spears in anywhere.The show’s co-creator Craig Thomas said to Hollywood Reporter, That today’s episode, “Everything Must Go”, “was written to leave the door open for the pop singer to make a return appearance next season.”

“She was better than the first time and I think the fans will enjoy it because her return answers a larger mystery set up earlier in the series,” Thomas said. “So there’s a good plot reason why she’s there. And when people watch Britney’s second appearance on the show they’ll see that the door is still open for her to come back.”

The popstar first appearance on the show, March 24th , brought the show it’s highest ratings ever.It was so successful that Britney was invited to reprise the same role, Abby, in another episode as a guest appearance, The second Britney’s featured How I Met Your Mother episode airs today at 8:30 (ET/PT) on CBS.
